Journeying Through Grief – Bereavement Ministry
Nothing compares to the pain of losing a loved one. It becomes obvious that there is no way to escape the penetrating pain of grief. In short, the more significant the person was in your life and the more feelings you had for them—regardless of their relationship to you—the greater the impact their loss is likely to have.
There are many aspects of loss; from losing a spouse, a child, a friend, or pet, to losing someone to suicide. The shock following a suicide can seem devastating and difficult to come to terms with the nature of the death and the stigma suicide carries. Thus, leaving questions unanswered and unresolved.
Even so, there are ways to come to terms with the intensity of your loss, whatever the loss may be. If you are grieving from the loss of a loved one, there is support available. Please contact Jan Brett, Pastoral Care/Mental Health Ministry at 623-214-3576 or jbrett@ololscw.org for the initial contact and to get more details on how to join a grief support group.
